This year’s event will feature performances by current dance and music students, a kinara candle lighting ceremony celebrating the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa, and a performance by special guest artist ensemble, Jalikunda: Home of the Griots.

Student performances will be from Mind-Builders dance and music ensembles that provide students with professional experience, high levels of training, technique and performance.

Jalikunda: Gambia’s Bronx-based griots and jalis are presented by the Center for Traditional Music and Dance.
